It's CRCT time!!!!!
The Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) is a state mandated assessment that will be given to all students in grades 3-8 in the academic areas; Math, Reading, English/ Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. The purpose of the CRCT is to measure student acquisition of knowledge, concepts, and skills taught throughout the state.
The CRCT is given in Richmond County as follows:
Grades 3-8: Thursday, April 17–Reading
Tuesday, April 22-ELA
Wednesday, April 23-Math
Thursday, April 24-Science
Friday, April 25-Social Studies
You can help your student do their best on this important test by:
- Making sure your child is at school. Students test better in their own classroom setting so please don’t schedule appointments during the morning of the test days.
- Being sure your child is on time for school so they don’t have to sit in the Media Center and then have to take the test in the afternoon. Once testing begins there can be no interruptions.
- Make sure your child has a good night’s sleep. Testing is usually about two hours each day and a student must be alert and ready to work. Students in grades 3-8 need at least nine hours of sleep to perform well.
- Make sure your child has glasses or any medication they need.
- Make sure they have a good breakfast either at home or here at school so they can concentrate better during the test.
Thank you so much for helping make C.T. Walker such a wonderful place to learn and for your help during testing time.
